Old English...For You To Know

Do you really want to learn the Old English? Here are some....

Sunday = sunnandaeg means day of the sun
Monday = monandaeg means day of the moon
Tuesday = tiwesdaeg or the Norse god of combat
Wednesday = wodnesdaeg, after the supreme Norse god Woden
Thursday = thorsdaeg, after the Norse god of thunder, Thor
Friday = frigedaeg, after the Norse goddess of beauty, Frige, wife of Woden
Saturday = is the only day to retain its Roman origin, named after Saturn, god of agriculture and harvest.
